Document preparation checklist

Personal documents
- Passport valid at least six months beyond intended stay
- Evidence of treaty country nationality
- Résumé and evidence of relevant business experience
- Prior U.S. visa history, including any refusals
- Dependant documents: marriage certificate, birth certificates
Investment evidence
- Traceable source-of-funds chain from origin to the business account
- Wire transfer records and bank statements at each step
- Purchase agreement, escrow instructions or equipment invoices
- Lease agreement and evidence of deposits paid
- Business licences and registrations
Enterprise documents
- Business plan with five-year projections and hiring schedule
- Corporate formation documents and ownership records
- Federal and state tax registrations
- Payroll records, if the business is already operating
- Supplier and customer contracts
